Craft in Contemporary Design
Session Abstract: Computer aided machining has revolutionized the design industry today. Designers are moving away from hand made to CNC and Lazer cut objects. This session will focus on the use of hand-made and CAD CAM technology coming together to create contemporary design through craft. The use of parametric tools and physical modeling are the primary ways these designs have been evolved. We tend to use materials like metal, wood, bamboo, paper etc in ways they haven’t been explored generally in the larger context of design in India.
